Released.
Message from
President SACA
Dear friends,
Happy Global Day against pain 15th
Oct and
World Anaesthesia Day 16th Oct 2007
Wish, a stander, safe and affordable anaesthesia,
intensive care and pain-free services can be provided to the needed individuals
all over the world
It is a matter of great
pride that the executive committee meting during 7th SACA congress
held in Kathmandu on 22-24 Feb 2007 had decided to publish a
“SAARC Journal of
Anaesthesia”. The journal is published on 16th Oct 2007, the World Anaesthesia
Day. It is published amidst the teleconference in all the seven SAARC countries
simultaneously. I hope this journal will represent the status of development in
Anaesthesology in this region.
I on behalf of SACA
executive committee and my-self congratulate
Prof. (Dr.) P.F. Kotur, President-ISA, Registrar KLE University, J. N. Medical College,
Belgaum, Karnataka, the editor of this journal and his team for the successful
publication of this Journal.
It is a real difficult job
to bring all the countries together and have common platform. It was a long
awaited job that has been fulfilled by Prof Kotur.
I hope the spirit of SAARC,
from the member countries namely
Bangladesh,
Bhutan, India,
Maldives, Nepal,
Pakistan and Sri
Lanka
will be well reflected in our journal. We expect to have
participation from
Afghanistan
as well.
I would also like to
request in the capacity of President of SACA to Anaesthesiologists from all the
member countries to participate in the development of our
journal.
I invite all the regular
participant Anaesthesiologists of SACA congress from the International forum and
all the well wishers to help in making our journal of an international
stander.
Last but not the least I
would like to request WFSA to
support whole heartedly in the development of our
journal
A proposal for rename of
SACA was endorsed in the Executive Committee meeting, as a resolution was filed
by some of the members and the invitees in the meeting held on 24th
Feb. 2007. The above agenda was discussed and the new name was suggested as:
‘SAARC Association of Anaesthesiologists, - SAARC –
AA’
as there were some
administrative and technical difficulties with the original name.
We may be meeting you in
the banner of
‘SAARC Association of
Anaesthesiologists, - SAARC – AA’
in
future.
With best
wishes.
Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Ratna
Bajracharya
President, SACA, Kathmandu, Nepal
